Year:
2020
Materials:
Acrylic painting
Size:
2 meters x 3 meters
Client:
Dubai Culture
The mural is a captivating blend of heritage and futurism, celebrating the UAE’s Hope Probe mission to Mars. It features an Emirati girl named Amal, levitating with roots beneath her, symbolizing growth and connection. Alongside her, Ibn Yunus contemplates the cosmos, while the Arabic word for hope, “amal,” adds a vibrant touch. Mars looms in the backdrop, amidst a starry expanse. This visual ode to tradition and achievement, spanning over five meters, was created by Amna Basheer and Reem Al Mazrouei, and unveiled in Dubai’s historical Al Fahidi district. It represents a proud cultural moment, merging Emirati heritage with cosmic aspirations
